The Read

Style, strengths, and defining traits.

Kyle "Killshot" Prepolec is a Canadian lightweight from Windsor, Ontario, born 30 August 1989. He fights southpaw out of Maximum Training Centre in his home city, stands 5 ft 10 in with a 70-inch reach, and has been competing professionally since October 2008 — a seventeen-year career that has run almost entirely through the Ontario and Michigan regional circuit.

The head kick is a recurring weapon — he closed both Marco Antonio Elpidio in 2022 and Josh Henry in 2023 with kicks upstairs inside a single round. In November 2021 he won the inaugural Samourai MMA lightweight title with a five-round split decision over Michael Dufort.

The UFC portion of that record is 0-5, and it deserves to be stated plainly. He debuted on short notice in May 2019 at welterweight — a division above his own — and lost a unanimous decision to Nordine Taleb, then dropped a second unanimous decision to Austin Hubbard back at lightweight that September. He was released in March 2020. A second call came in May 2025, again on short notice, and Benoît Saint Denis submitted him with an arm-triangle. In October 2025 he was ahead of Drew Dober through two rounds in Vancouver, including a late second-round knockdown, before Dober's third-round surge ended it; both men took Fight of the Night.

His most recent outing was the UFC Fight Night card at Belgrade Arena on 1 August 2026, where Mateusz Rebecki took him down and stopped him with ground strikes late in the first.
