Career stats per UFC.com; recent form is each fighter's last five bouts. Numbers reflect records coming into fight night. Bars compare each stat on a fixed scale; the “Edge” marker flags the leading corner where the gap is meaningful. The snapshot plots five career rates — output, striking defense, durability (strikes absorbed, inverted), takedown defense and finish rate — each normalised on its own scale.

Pre-fight analysis — how we saw it going in

Case for Rębecki

Rębecki still finishes at an 80% clip — nine knockouts and seven submissions in twenty wins — and he is the more proven grappler of the two. His recent form is the problem, not his skill set: three straight losses, the most recent a third-round rear-naked choke against Grant Dawson, a specialist. Against a southpaw who has been submitted three times, most recently by Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 315, his pressure and top game are the clearest route.

Case for Prepolec

Prepolec is 0-4 in the Octagon but competitive in three of those four — he took Nordine Taleb and Austin Hubbard the distance, and shared Fight of the Night with Drew Dober in October before a third-round stoppage. Ten of his eighteen wins are by knockout, he fights southpaw, and at 36 he is fighting for his roster place.

What We Were Watching For

  • Whether Rębecki looks for the takedown early — seven of his twenty wins are submissions, and three of Prepolec's four stoppage defeats came that way.
  • Prepolec's southpaw stance against Rębecki's pressure — both of his UFC decision losses went the full fifteen minutes.
  • Cardio into round three. Prepolec has been stopped late twice; Rębecki has finished late himself.
  • Roster stakes on both sides — a combined 3-6 across their last nine appearances, and the five most recent between them were all defeats.
