The Read
Style, strengths, and defining traits.
Janičić is the first Montenegrin fighter signed by the UFC, and he entered with a rare line on a debutant's record: 19 wins, 19 finishes, no decisions at all. Eleven came by knockout and eight by submission, and eleven of them ended in the first round. He turned professional at 18 in July 2015 and went 1-2 across his opening three bouts, losing only twice since: a unanimous decision to Roman Szymanski at KSW 51 in November 2019, in his lightweight debut, and the Octagon debut itself, where Noah Gugnon deadened his lead leg, took him down and submitted him 81 seconds in.
The eight fights between those two defeats all ended inside the distance, most recently a first-round TKO of UFC veteran Alex Oliveira in the main event of FNC 26 in Podgorica.
