Bert MMA — UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs. Malott full-card predictions

Bert MMA expects Cody Chovancek to land the harder strikes and use his grappling to return to his feet when SuYoung You gets him down. He thinks You can wrestle to survive rather than be finished, so his final call is a unanimous decision for Chovancek despite considering a knockout.

Bert MMA favors Melissa Croden’s striking volume, kicks and cardio in a fight he expects to take place mostly on the feet. He allows Chelsea Chandler some takedowns and possibly a round through wrestling, but picks Croden by unanimous decision.

Bert MMA sees Chad Anheliger as the stronger, busier striker and expects him to defend Steven Koslow’s takedowns as Koslow tires. Koslow’s early submission threat is the danger, but Bert selects Anheliger to win the later rounds and take a 29–28 split decision.

Bert MMA expects Javad Mahjoub to repeatedly enter the clinch and use his judo throws to take Joel Faglier down. He thinks the first round’s clinching will leave little time to finish, then predicts an easier takedown, side control and ground-and-pound leading to a second-round submission.

Bert MMA favors Nick Galanti’s wrestling, grappling and power against Julien Leblanc, pointing to Leblanc being taken down and submitted by an opponent Bert considers primarily a striker. He allows an unlikely submission from bottom as Leblanc’s route, but his final selection is Galanti by first-round ground-and-pound TKO.

Bert MMA sees Jhonata Diniz as the bigger, harder-hitting striker and doubts Tanner Boser has the wrestling to keep him down. He grants Boser a speed advantage and a possible takedown, but expects Diniz to get up and dominate the striking before a TKO in round one or two.

Bert MMA expects Nate Landwehr’s forward pressure to create an opening for Mandel Nallo’s faster, more powerful counters and picks Nallo to knock him out in the first round. He also sees a credible alternative in which Landwehr survives the early danger, maintains a strong pace and takes over later.

Bert MMA expects Louis Jourdain’s higher striking volume, kicks and unorthodox attacks to win rounds against Timmy Cuamba. He credits Cuamba with the potential for the bigger individual shots and a round earned through a takedown or damaging strike, but selects Jourdain by a close 29–28 decision.

Bert MMA sees Kyle Daukaus hurting Marc-André Barriault early and following up on the ground, selecting a first-round TKO. He thinks Barriault’s pressure and cardio can become increasingly effective in rounds two and three if he survives and Daukaus cannot establish sustained wrestling or grappling.

Bert MMA expects Cristian Perez Gonzalez’s speed and explosiveness to give him the first round and an early knockout opportunity. He selects Kyle Nelson to survive, mix in wrestling to tire Perez Gonzalez, and use his experience, striking volume and power to win rounds two and three for a 29–28 decision.

Bert MMA expects Erin Blanchfield to win the opening round through stronger strikes and initial takedown defense. He then favors Jasmine Jasudavicius to keep pursuing takedowns, control from top and avoid submissions in rounds two and three, earning a close 29–28 decision.

Bert MMA doubts Mike Malott will reproduce the sustained wrestling that has troubled Joaquin Buckley and expects most of the fight to stay on the feet. He favors Buckley’s explosive entries, power and striking defense, allowing Malott one round through counters or a takedown but selecting Buckley by a 49–46 unanimous decision.
