Harris def. Hines

Harris vs Hines — Heavyweight · UFC Fight Night
What happened
Harris was patient for a heavyweight debutant — reading, waiting, not swinging for the fences. A right hand backed Hines up, and when Hines stepped forward to re-engage Harris met him with an uppercut that dropped him. The follow-up shots on the floor brought the referee in at 1:40 of the first, and Harris stayed unbeaten in his UFC debut.
- Harris stayed patient early, making reads rather than forcing the exchange.
- A right hand backed Hines up and drew him into re-engaging.
- Harris landed an uppercut that dropped Hines, then finished on the ground at 1:40.

Pre-fight analysis — how we saw it going in
Case for Harris
Harris is the unbeaten finisher and the bigger, fresher man — a 6-foot-6 frame with a long reach, four of five wins inside the distance, and a surprising submission game (three subs) behind the boxing power that earned him 'The Hammer.' He steps up from a strong LFA run on the kind of short-notice momentum that has buried flat-footed heavyweights before.
Case for Hines
Hines has the one thing Harris does not: an Octagon round. He is a compact, composed heavyweight who makes simple, correct choices in the clinch and on top, and even his lone loss — a decision to Jhonata Diniz — proves he can survive UFC-level pressure into the later rounds, where a debutant's nerves and gas can betray him.
What We Were Watching For
- Debut nerves vs Octagon reps: Harris has zero UFC fights, Hines is 0-1 — thin experience on both sides, but who settles first?
- Two finishers in heavyweight gloves: one clean shot ends it — whose power lands first?
- Harris's reach and power against Hines's grappling: does Hines close the distance and drag it down, or eat the jab coming in?
- Cardio if it goes long: neither has been deep at this level — the third round is uncharted for both.
